CoBe Capital acquires Bourrelier Éducation from Lagardère Group's (Euronext: MMB) Hachette Livre
Amiens, France – CoBe Capital is pleased to announce the acquisition of Bourrelier Éducation, formerly a subsidiary of Lagardère Group's (Euronext: MMB) Hachette Livre. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
With headquarters in Amiens, France, Bourrelier Éducation conceives and creates pedagogical materials designed for children in kindergartens and elementary schools. It offers over 10,000 products, including books, games, and other learning tools, which are distributed nationally through a direct sales network and via mail-order and e-commerce. The original company was founded in 1964 and is one of the few French firms with a long-established system of direct sales and relationships across the full territory.
"The acquisition of Bourrelier Éducation is the result of months of hard work among the teams at CoBe, Hachette, and Bourrelier," said Neal Cohen, Founder and Managing Director of CoBe Capital. "Together we have brought this transaction to a successful close, and I am thrilled to welcome a company with such a long history of innovation and experience into our portfolio."
Thomas Kermorgant and Darren Chaffee led the transaction on behalf of CoBe Capital, and Mr. Kermorgant has been named President following the close.
"I look forward to continuing my work with Bourrelier and am excited to be a part of such a dynamic team," said Mr. Kermorgant. "Bourrelier Éducation represents both CoBe's belief in this business as well as our dedication to expanding our presence in Europe. We are very happy to be a part of Bourrelier's history as they start a new chapter of further growth and development."
